Pleased to meet you. I am Rudiculous, and I am the author of this website. I have created everything here in my spare time, because I like to play around with HTML, PHP, and other stuff one uses to create websites.
I've thought myself how to create websites, mostly by trial and error. Starting with messing around in MicroSoft Word (which had the option to export files to HTML), then learning the basics of the language, and eventually learning all it's subtleties. A lot has changed though, since I first started with HTML. I've learned far more advanced techniques.
At the moment I use two markup languages for websites. HTML 4.01 Strict for dynamic websites, and XHTML for static documents and websites. For presentation I use the CSS-language. Most websites are backed by a PHP-backend and a MySQL-database.
My philosophy when it comes to websites is “Functionality over aesthetics”. I believe a website should be functional first and pretty second. And, since the purpose of most websites is to convey information, this means that I believe the accessibility of website should be high. A website is made for everyone, including people with handicaps, including people with exotic webbrowsers or operating system.
